Rather sobering news for all of us in the data industry. Individuals who negligently disclose personal data could be jailed for up to 2 years. Lord Erroll recently said of his vote to amend section 55 of the Data Protection Act "Data processors need to wake up." (Computing News)
The backlash from the lost CD's by HM Revenue & Collections last year has only just started. And you will note that the individual will be made culpable, not just the organisation.
