Customer Tracing
Tracing an existing customer costs less than acquiring a new one. Losing touch with a customer because they have moved house and forgotten to tell you can be frustrating but shouldn’t mean the end of your relationship.
Many consumers are loyal to brands and a rekindled relationship can be very rewarding over time. The fact an individual has moved may even mean they have an immediate need for your services.
Ways to trace someone
Companies tracing customers use two types of information:
- Licensed information (e.g. from Royal Mail or Equifax)
- Publicly available (e.g. opt-in electoral roll search)
Companies who are tracing a customer can access more information than those who are tracing a debtor. Royal Mail’s National Change of Address File and Equifax’s reConnect can both be used. These files will confirm the person has ‘gone-away’ from your existing address and supply a new one where possible.
Our customer tracing software also uses publicly available information to find where an individual may have moved to. This can be done on a case-by-case basis or as part of a batch process.
Data Discoveries has a range of data management software and services to help you trace your lost customers.
